Monica Mars

Monica is an Associate Professor at the division of Nutrition and Health at Wageningen University. Monica studies the effects of food intake on satiety regulation and body weight. Monica was involved in the EU funded BigO project, in which over 5,000 children from 5 different countries participated. As a dissemination and data analyses partner of that project she recognizes the difficulty of setting up a good citizen science project. She sees citizen science as a powerful tool to assess food and health related behaviour with different types of data, but also as a way to make citizens aware of their own behaviour. She hopes this online course will give guidance to people that are thinking about setting up their own citizen science project.
